Leaving tonight for a visit with my granddaughter. Time enough to make a few more cards!

A little water coloring. Full discloure - i was erasing pencil marks around the swirls and the ink smeared so I decided to spray it and make it mist!

Best Friend

Card #2 for the Coffee Loving Card Makers Spring Summer hop.

Again more mixed media play. I used coffee with a stencil and made coffee splatters. I painted the text and the inside of the coffee cup with coffee and even added some to the flower.

Play

Last night I did something I have not done in a while. I played. I played with paints, stamps, stencils, ink, markers, charcoal. I grabbed so many different materials. I tired not to think or plan which is difficult for me as I am an overthinker.

The base is a collection of paper pieces which I Mod Podged.

I will probably turn this into a card.

Thank you for visiting and for your kind words!

Wishing you a fabulous Memorial Day weekend. I am off again to visit my granddaughter and babysit her so her mom can go to the office. Not sure how much painting I will get done after chasing the one year old all day. But, I love it!

Me & My Shadow

Have you been to the Canvas Corp Shop lately? You need to run over there and check out the Compose Your life Collection. It is my new fave!!! Such a versatile collection!

It lends itself well to many types of creating!

Last time I was in Phoenix I took this fun photo of my granddaughter. I knew I would want to scrap it so I went to town and created a layout using one of my favorite techniques. I used texture paste and a stencil to replicate the cement wall. The layout has other mixed media techniques including misting and  stamping. I fussy cut the leaves and flowers which are misted and I even doodled on them. The chipboard birds are painted with the new Color Wash Paint. I will list my supplies at the end. The smaller green leaves are actually 7Gypsies washi tape that I taped together and die cut after misting.

(My printer was acting up and I got the yellow/orange print. I decided I like it so used it.)

My daughter has asked that I not post photos of the baby on line so I covered her with text paper cutouts. Thank you for your understanding.

Wild One

The theme for my granddaughter's first birthday was Wild One! That is so her:)

I made a wonderful banner for her high chair using various prints including zebra, giraffe, etc. I still have lots of the fabric and used it to recreate the banner on the layout. I also have one of the cake toppers in the cluster.

Here is the sketch from SketchNScrap

And here is my layout

I have the banner and it will be saved in her album.

My apologies for the poor quality of the photos. My printer decided to run out of ink.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day! I hope each and everyone one of you is being spoiled!

My son and his wife cooked an amazing brunch for her mom and I. She also made a beautiful wreath for our front door. It was lovely to catch up with them. Although they only live about 10 minutes away, it is often difficult to get time with them.

I am back from Phoenix again and was catching up on some thank you notes. We had an issue with a book my granddaughter had received. It came with a musical song player which died soon after we got it.  Being Sesame Street, it was her favorite and came in handy keeping her occupied for diaper changing time:) I emailed the company and a wonderful lady in customer service went above and beyond helping us! The player is out of stock but she sent us other books and a few surprises. I made this thank which is going to be sent from my granddaughter. The red guy is supposed to be Elmo.

Paint party Friday

Today I have a little ATC for you. The theme was  favorite desserts. This time of year we love to indulge ourselves with ice cream. Unfortunately or fortunately, we have an ice cream stand about 2 miles down the road which makes it very convenient!

Adding this to Paint Party Friday! I encourage you to stop over there to see many inspiring artists!

The Challenge - to use a 12 x 12 kraft envelope

The crew Team at Canvas Corp Brands was challenge to use a 12 x 12 kraft envelope.

I hope you will visit the Canvas Corp Blog to see the amazing finished projects! Mine is included in the video around the 2:10 mark.

12x12 kraft envelope

I decided to use mine to create a faux leather cover for an art album.

I tore the envelope into pieces and crumpled them up.
I smoothed out the papers and created a leather look using French Roast Color Wash Paint, Marigold and Rusty Red Glimmer Mist. Once they were dry I glued them to the album. I glided over the pieces with a black ink pad to accent the folds and edges.

Using Rusty Red Glimmer Mist, I added color to my modeling paste which I applied to the cover using a stencil.

And here is the finished album.

This was such a fun challenge.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you check out the Canvas Corp store where you will find beautiful paper, inks and canvas for your crafting needs!

Home is where the Heart is

Did your mother or grandmother have a button tin? I remember sorting through my Grandma's looking at the different colors and styles. That is probably why I also collect buttons. Instead of just collecting them, it is time to get them out and use them!

Here is a sneak peek of my project over at Helmar's Blog

I would appreciate it if you jumped over to Helmar to see the rest of this and to leave me a comment!

Also visit Helmar to see the line up of adhesives which are
perfect for each of your projects!

Thank you and Happy Friday!

I am Back but will be Leaving:):)
