My son is getting married in two months! Wow - where has this year gone! The shower is this Saturday at my house so I have been busy making decorations! Beth's color is a pale Robin's egg blue. This is what I have made so far.
The tray was an recycle of an old breakfast tray I never used. I wanted to make it useable so I used paper flowers and stamps for decorations. These are some of my favorite photos of the two of them. I think they will enjoy it.
It poured this morning and now that the sun is out I can see spring has made even more progress. The lilac buds are growing and my small daffodils are out!
But, the day did not go as planned. I went to the mall to yet again search for a mother of the groom dress. I hit the regular stores and tried on several, but nothing fit. Then I stopped at a few specialty shops - again nothing was what i was looking for. So discouraging. So in the middle of this not so very good day, I remembered I had started this canvas and finishing it would make me feel good and bring a smile to my face!
.This mood board definitely made me think of spring and flowers beginning to bloom. Thank you SGD.
I was inspired by WendyVecchi who did a similar canvas. The flowers just seemed so bright and cheerful. This quote was perfect!
By the time I finished the sun was shining. I had ordered a dress on line. And I took a brisk walk which reminded me that the sun can shine in the middle of a bleak day!
I am also adding this to Mixed Media Monthly Challenge - April Showers. They do bring May flowers!!
Adding this to Simonssays In the Middle Challenge.
While visiting Jen in phoenix, she and I got to spend a few hours at her favorite place - As You Wish. It is a pottery studio. It took me forever to decide what to paint - a small plate - then forever to choose a design - a tree with hearts. Once I finally made those decisions , we sat and painted. It was fun just to enjoy some downtime.
